I love tea. I believe it's the most versatile beverage on Earth. It can be consumed hot or cold or anywhere between. It can be drunk as is, or seasoned with spices, sweetened with sugar, made delicious with milk, or it can even be used in cooking. Even the original caffeinated version has a lot less caffeine then coffee. A common misconception is that it has more caffeine then coffee. It is true per pound. However, from a pound of tea you can make about 200 cups of tea, while from a pound of coffee you can make only about 40 cups of coffee.
My absolute favorite place to purchase tea is from
Adagio Teas
. They have a wide selection of teas from ordinary black tea to the more exotic white teas and everything in between. They also have an amazing number of different tea making devices. Their prices are very reasonable as well. Even the shipping doesn't kill the deal. It's $3.75 for ground shipping but free if your purchase exceeds $50.
Besides they also have a
reward system

as well making the deal even sweeter. It pays off to become their frequent shopper. For every dollar you spend at their store, you receive 1 point. Referring friends will also earn you points as well as creating your own signature blends of tea. For every 100 points you will receive a $10 gift certificate.
The site is well organized, very user friendly and easy to use. It is also a very highly rated site by BizRate.
They sell mostly loose teas and if you have only made tea from tea bags before you are in for a real treat. I myself cannot get myself to go back to tea bags anymore.
Do not be wary of loose teas. Adagio.com has
a number of teapots

that are meant to be used with loose teas. Forget the messy tea ball, there are much better options out there. To make it super convenient and affordable they offer a
starter set just for $19. It has an easy-to-use teapot, a guide to tea booklet and four samples of teas. You can even choose the type of tea that they should send you: black, green, flavors or herbal.
Don't be afraid to try different kinds of teas. My favorite hot tea is the
thai chai

tea. It makes a wonderful desert tea with a splash of cream. For iced tea I recommend
white tangerine. I can guarantee that you will never go back to bottled iced teas afterwards.
Since I am a Adagio customer I am able to send $5 worth of gift certificates to anyone. Please drop me a note and I'll send you one. My e-mail address is listed on the right side of the site, on the bottom. With that gift certificate your
starter set will be only $14 + $3.75 shipping. Give it a try and let me know what you think.
Green factor: loose tea means less packaging and you may also purchase refills at the store.
Deal factor: loose teas can cost as little as 10 cents per cup.
Ahh yes.... I remember these delicious items from Thanksgiving 2008. What fun....
